UPCOMING WORKSHOP:

SEWING BASICS

Saturday, October 13, 3pm-5pm

WonderRoot Community Arts Center

Would your life be easier if you knew how to sew a button on? Or hem your own pants? Would you like to be one of those people that just “whips up” a wallet or dress? Then join us for an ongoing, monthly “open jam” session of sewing know-how! All levels of experience or non-experience welcome. We’ll go over the fundamentals to get you started on any project, including, but not limited to: hand stitching, how-to’s of machine usage, straightforward sewing, and basic project terminology. Or if there’s a project you want to or have already started, we can help with that, too. All materials provided, and all ages welcome.

Class size is super limited due to the amount of machines we can offer. If you have your own machine, please bring it (along with its manual).

This workshop is free to all members of WonderRoot. If you are not a member of WonderRoot already, it’s $10/month (or $60/year), and you’ll have access to the whole WonderRoot Community Arts Center, all its classes and facilities, and discounts to places such as Park Grounds Coffee, Sam Flax Art & Supply, and Binders Art & Supply. To learn more about memberships and the other levels provided, or to sign up for one, go here. When you do, please mention Creative Reuse and we’ll have special take-home supplies for you!

Pre-registration is also required for this workshop and can be done here. Facebook event page is here.

OUTREACH ACTIVITIES:

Tuesday, October 16, and Tuesday, October 23, at Foreverfamily. WonderRoot Creative Reuse will visit Foreverfamily and lead children’s craft activities on site. We’re excited about our first trip to Foreverfamily!
